Because its using 10.3 instead of 10.2.1 you're on. With 10.3 the icon are smaller a bit without the gray box around it so more space for the icons

Update to the newest leak. Its a full OS instead of the developer version. The newest one is as close to production for now..

That is amazing how we used to want our devices to become smaller and smaller as technology grows.

Nowadays, the trend is going the other way, the bigger it is, the better lol.

I think I will get the classic, even though the passport is very tempting if I have the spare cash.

And here I thought the BB Passport was this beast of a nature, looking at the size of this particular model, it's smaller than my Z30 and the Z3 that is out there. Width wise however, I suppose getting used to it will take a little time. I have literally been calling up Telus and talking to reps and telling them about this phone while they have never heard of it. After most of my conversations, I have Telus employees who have iPhones saying they will actually go back to Blackberry when the Passport and Classic come out. Most of the reps' I've spoken to use to have the Curve, the Bold.. anything in the last decade. So happy to be spreading the word ^_^

I am also happy that one of my customers will be buying my Z30, I keep getting asked by so many others who have their old BB Bold how much I will be selling my z30 for... I am so amazed at how far Blackberry has come. I don't think Apple or Android has dedicated users the way Blackberry has. People who have iphones that live and die by them, only see the phone as a gimmick to make themselves look "good" like everyone else. With a Blackberry, you don't have to pretend to be anybody you are not when you pull your phone out. These new phones are so distinctive that people will know it's not an Apple or Android phone. Blackberry owners/users appear differently in public compared to most people on a TTC who yell into the iphones or talk extremely loud on their Android devices to get noticed. SMH... it's just a phone people..

Running the 10.3.0.1052 OS. I am running the same thing on my Q10, and the icons are actually not that much smaller IMO. I think taking the grey box away opens up a bunch of unused space on the phone.

if you are interested in some Passport-news, here are some photos of Passport next to the Q10, Z30 and Z3. You can compare how big it is. I've had short experience with Passport few days ago and I can say - WHAT THE F*CK! It's unbelievable and I'm rely looking forward! In Czech republic Passport is going to be available in October for about $800 (VAT included).
