I've modified my answer. I like the mix on Passport and like DARK on Q10 - partly because it saves battery power. On Passport it is more a question of aesthetics as the battery life is excellent anyhows.

I think passport has lcd screen so in case of lcd there is nothing about saving power whether you have black or bright theme..

Sir, I believe a white pixel is the power-saver on LCD. Any tech gurus?

Yes what you believe is right but that is for bigger display (monitor / tv ) .In small display you can neglect the the amount .

White pixel is more power efficient than black theme..

CRT monitors, which until a few years ago were the predominant models among PC users, consume more power when a computer screen is white. To confirm this, Schindler measured the energy output of an 18-
inch (45.7-centimeter) CRT monitor and found it used 102 watts when the screen was white but only 79 watts when the display was black.

LCD displays rely on an array of thin-tube fluorescent bulbs that provide a constant source of light to create a white screen. To make it black, LCDs rely on a diffuser to block this light. As a result, LCDs use more energy than CRTs to display a black screen. Measuring a 17-inch (43-centimeter) LCD monitor, Schindler found that white required 22.6 watts, while black came in a tad higher at 23.2 watts. With a 20-inch (50.8-centimeter) LCD, black required 6 percent more energy than white.

Dark. Better on the battery and easier to read. I wish we could have a completely dark hub as well.

It's only better for devices like the Q10 and Z30 because of the Amoled tech.

Dark theme here. Passport has a LCD screen which uses the same battery amount with either a dark or light theme. It is still on even in the black areas. A LED screen on the other hand would have the ability to turn off for black areas to theoretically save some battery.
True! And i will still go for dark theme.

I prefer whichever one is more energy efficient.
Seems like sometimes my Passport doesn't last the whole day (12 hrs) without a charge.

My average battery life is 11hrs.

How intense is your use? That's pretty short battery life for a PP.

I would say moderate use as I can usually go through a whole day without charging.

It's hard to give specific numbers, but I would say a heavy use day would be 1hr phone call, 30min of music through headphones, and a few hours worth of screen-on time.
I also have 4 e-mail accounts plus your regular social media and communication apps.

I like the light theme better. It feels more like BlackBerry since that's what I used to since bbos. But I use dark theme just for the sake of less battery usage. Some says that the battery usage is the same for either dark or light theme for Passport. I guess I'm just used to believe that dark theme consume less battery.

I always did light because it was uniform around the OS on the Q10 (settings & everything was black)

White seems to be the uniform color on the Passport, so I've stuck with white on this device.
