    i press the power button on top and put it on a flat surface, when i lift to wake nothing happens
    i even tried the time-out option and again nothing? i have had it working in the past and the settings have been checked to allow this

    Yes, this is under Advanced Interaction. I have had the same thing happen from time to time. I haven't figured out the cause besides maybe the device being "busy" with all the open apps I have. (Not sure).
    A temporary fix would be to toggle "Lift to Wake" off. Exit Settings. Go back in and toggle it back on. (A kind of jump start).

    Mine works perfectly, but I can't help the reflex and press the on button anyway; U + Enter works well.
