I miss my Passport. The Priv is a nice smartphone. And If I didn't have a choice, I would be more than happy with it. I just miss the fluid HUB experience in BB10, and I miss the comfortable keyboard. I realize now, the HUB cannot and will not be replicated on any Android device.
I use my phone for about 150 emails in 3 accounts daily, 75 texts and I use the phone for 50 to 100 calls daily.
Apps are not a big issue for me.

New SE on it's way to me now.

I was considering the PRIV as a replacement to my SE, but I have the same concerns you experienced. I think I'll be sticking with BB10.

This is a similar situation to what I experience on a daily basis. BB10 does the basics so well that apps become secondary to the basic experience. Most of the apps I use are available to me in any case. I don't live and die by apps when it comes to a mobile device, but I do live and die by text, email and phone calls...and for those things BB10 excels.

It's clear that if you need major Droid app support its worth it to have a tablet at home or on the go. Better than sacrificing the best phone experience you can buy.

I did the exact same thing. I used the Priv for a month and then got a Passport. The Passport is just a better device and suits my needs perfectly.

I hear ya. I'm half tempted some days to go buy a Priv for $400 on Newegg and just make the switch. But I'm reading too many threads like this one where people are coming back to BB10 after a rude Android wake up call. I just don't use apps that much to take the risk right now. That coupled with really liking the Passport and I know it wouldn't be the right thing to do. At least...not right now. There may come a day when BB10 diehards have no choice, but that day hasn't arrived yet.

I will say, if you need Android, the Priv is the way to go. Prefer the look and feel over my friends S7 Edge. Just an overall nice phone and a lot to like. But it's not BB10. I'm different because I'm not app heavy. I need Dunkin, Starbucks and Nest. That's all

Disagree. There seems to be. It's definitely an out of the box design. My experience with BB users and the BB diehards [like me] is their desire to be set apart from the masses. BB corporate business decisions are another matter altogether.

I don't think it was ever meant to be a phone for the masses. As for width, I can type on mine one-handed and would now find it hard to go back to a "regular" size phone, but I am nostalgic for the slider form factor. As for apps, it has the native apps I need for work: Citrix receiver, Safenet token generator and Bighand dictation. For "leisure" apps, I get by fine with BlackBerry fansite apps, BlackBerry maps, Blaq, Remember and BeWeather. I rarely use most of the other apps on my Passport.

I agree that BlackBerry made unusual devices. They are for the unusual user. Some of us still need a phone first with amenities second.

I would like to see the platform survive and developed (wishful thinking). Until I absolutely have to leave BB10, I'm sticking with BlackBerry.

I'm going to get a Passport but for the time being, I'm gonna continue using my nearly four year old...

Welcome back. Though both phones are great phones but when it comes to the legendary BB10 HUB Priv is way behind. I do hope that BBRY at some time will be able to replicate the Hub on the Priv.
