Question: will the Passport keyboard also be able to click to start a select text. And then swipe to highlight, and then click again to copy....and then paste later?

    If so, I am in.

Double tap on the keyboard it becomes a track pad. Hold the virtual shift key and swipe using the keyboard to get the desired text double tap again to back to original keyboard.

Yep - this was demonstrated in one of the recent video leaks, exactly as jasdahousecat explains.

Guess I will have to demo one in person. If it ends up being as easy as the old BBOS devices, I'm in. If not, the Classic wins.

This is exactly what I want to know also.
I have not seen any demo of the kb being used as you would use a laptop touch pad. - open the browser, navigate/click a few links using kb touch pad. Does the kb work as a touch pad or is it just sensitive to a swipe gestures ?

There is a lengthy Czech video which I believe shows the trackpad-like features in action. The video link was reposted yesterday.

Not to disappoint you but I'm quite sure the touchpad will not have a cursor that you can move around and click on things. It will only be a text selector. I'd also love to have a cursor but it doesn't look likely.

All the video shows is that when you double click the keyboard the text bubble comes up and you can control it via the keyboard.

I want to see how you select text, copy the selected text, and then paste it somewhere else.

BBOS had this perfected. I assume the Classic will...and I hope the Passport has made it as easy. I have a feeling that they have not.

Watch it again... around the ~23:30 mark he copies some text and pastes it around 23:53.

As I understand it, you double tap the keyboard to bring up the bubble, then move it where you want it by using the keyboard as a trackpad, then double tap again but don't release the second tap and move your finger across the keyboard to select text. Sounds long, but it is really quite quick once you think about it.

Copy and paste needs to be better shown.

Also how does the trackpad 'feel'? Is it pinpoint accurate like a Bold's trackpad or more loose like an average grade laptop touchpad?

Double tap to bring up the highlight, hold shift key and slide fingers on keypad to select the text and leaving the shift key will bring up the copy paste menu.

Looks super awkward compared to trackpad text selection. Will there be a non-touchscreen way to click the copy/paste buttons?
