Don't need to do sic multiwipe. Reloading the OS via BlackBerry Link on the PC would be sufficient enough IMHO.

Why? It's worth a shot to maybe avoid sending the phone in for repair.

Dear autoloader ain't a solution for every problem oka?
    It's most probably hardware issue
Just wipe your phone and your OS will be reloaded like new and if still no light then it's obviously hardware.

There are three methods to update your phone 1) OTA-over the air 2) sachesi 3)autoloader
First two are official method last one autoloader is unofficial
Autoloaders are not certified or signed so you install it on your own risk!

An autoloader will wipe the device in 5 minutes. It's much faster and more reliable than a security wipe (for this purpose).

You are incorrect. Autoloaders can only install BlackBerry-signed OSes. It is actually the most reliable method of performing a clean install.

Although Sachesi closely replicates an OTA update, it is hardly official.

Malik, I've never had problems with autoloader at all! Maybe you don't know how to do it, and that doesn't mean that it's wrong or something.

It's not a hardware issue ffs who the fuk keeps saying this **** it's not and I'm sick to death of people saying it. It's software and I know for a fact I've had the issue heaps of times on certain OS's one stage it was a certain app call blocker app to be exact soon as I removed it lights started working.

Well this was a strange episode, the passport is working fine again now and started to work again once I'd left the dismally lit pub that I was in, and is still working fine now, I'm going to go back there and see if the low light level in there does something to the light sensor.

You guys are being silly with the autoloader.
Check using BBVE if you're having a hardware problem.
If hard reboot won't help, backup your phone and use BlackBerry link to reload your OS. This ensures you have a perfect installation of the OS, and doesn't take very long (depends how fast your download speed is)

    Good luck

This is the latest official version. The OS has been outstanding for me on all of my various devices.

Your free ram seems about right - excellent even. Battery will settle after a day or so.

Does anyone know a permanent fix for the keys not lighting up? I've owned my Passport SE for over a year and I've autoloaded a fresh OS many times over, even different versions, and I still eventually lose the backlight! I mean a fresh OS is good cus it's snappy and such. But then I have to reset everything. Do Blank Spacer all over again. Notifications, Apps...you see what I'm saying? Any way to not have to constantly do a fresh OS just to get my dang keys to light up in the dark??? I know you can just restore it and everything will be back, but I thought people on the forums had said that you risk bringing back the problem if you restore...so idk what to do!
