In the light of WhatsApp pulling the plug on their client and facebook only being on BB10 through a hacked API's... Oh, and not to forget that BB10 is in maintenance mode with no real future development in sight.

Now the reasons I purchased: I bought the device due to the fact I've aways been eyeing up the Passport SE, but due to its high price tag, and it's form factor, I held off until now. I saw a great deal on ebay today: New, only been used to carrier unlock the device for 240.

I'm currently a Q10 user and a lover of BB10. Spending the last days with BB10 using its greatest device, the Passport, will be the way to end my BB10 story.

Nice find. Get what you want and be happy. If the Passport SE is not what you want and you are not happy, sell it and get a device you like.

I think you will love the device, but bear in mind after getting used to a passport, it's going to be hard to find a replacement. Good luck.

You have taken a wise decision. The Passport is a great device and I am sure you will enjoy it like all others including me who have it as their priced possessions.

As long as you use it for mails, mesaging(sms), some browsing... I do not think I have ever had a better device...
I have been thinking about the same oportunity on getting the SE from ebay for 240pounds(?) but in the end I got mine with cracked display for 100 euros. (and regarding being stupid... well, yes, I got mine 20 days ago )
Actually, if you dont mind carrying around another device for "media" contect, passport is the best work phone you can ever have

I've heard nothing but praise from Passport users around here, like yourself.

One key factor for me is that the Passport has a very good processor which will increase android app performance (take note that I said performance and not compatibility). BB10's native app support is going to decrease as time goes by so having android apps perform much better is a must.

I was unsure about its size as I enjoy using my Q10 one handed. However, I can imagine that it size makes it a dream to type on. Larger screen is always welcomed as I tend to read a lot of articles so the Passport should be much easier on the eye in comparison to my Q10.

I'm actually getting pretty good at one handed typing on my passport. It's not ideal for anything more than a quick text but it's quite doable.

You made a great choice, btw. You're gonna love the passport.

    Thanks for all the replies

Am I right in thinking that all I need to do to switch my BBID from my Q10 to my Passport is to disable BlackBerry Protect on my Q10 and on the website? Oh, and back up all the data on my device storage (obviously).

No. You gotta log in the BlackBerry Protect website and remove the Q10 from you ID there. Then do an wipe on the Q10 to completely remove BB ID from your Q10.
You can have BB ID on both your Q10 & PP at the same time.

BTW, my moment of stupidity was around the launch date of the OG and have been pretty alright with it. Can't even imagine the day there is no more PP.

Ya....yer stupid.... a complete moron actually.

Thing is I am stupider and moroner than thou.

Already having a perfectly fine Z10, Z30, and Q5, a couple of months ago bought a Leap, then a month later a silver Passport, and now most recently a Q10. I keep the leap, passport, and q10 at home, cuz people would think that I am nuts with so many blackberries. I can't resist a sale.

The best of the bunch? The Passport. Great industrial design. Just wish it used a micro sim like the other phones.

My favourite? Probably the Q5. An inexpensive case covers up the plastic look and improves grip. Just wish that the GPS locked into the satellites faster as I use it for running and have to wait for it to connect.

My daily phone? Z10. My first BlackBerry. Approaching 3 years, it still is running like new, however, the already mediocre battery is just starting to degrade further. No worries with the removable batteries.

Hopefully bb10 keeps going, even in maintenance mode.

    Via Z30.
