    Greetings, folks...

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new Passport. Before doing so, I wanted to confirm that this device does not need a SIM card and that most functions will work just fine over WiFi only. My apologies if this question comes off as being brainless... but... I have to ask.

    Thank you!

Don't know what do you mean by "most functions" . Obviously, all telephony functions, save calling 911, won't work. That includes text messaging. However, there is a workaround using VOIP when you're on WiFi.

I reckon that email functionality (imap) is my primary concern. VoIP calling would have been my secondary concern.

I have my Passport on wifi only since purchasing the Classic. It still does everything it did when it had a SIM, except phone calls and sms.
