Okay, if news of a Z30 successor doesn't make way soon, upon my contract completing this will be hopefully my next device.

It's an odd thing. Pretty disastrous design as far as media is concerned with that square screen, and the app scaling could be an issue.

I guess it's directed squarely at business users (and that's fine), but it's not for me.

I'm curious how text prediction and flinging capacitive keyboard will work since there are more than one suggested word on the ribbon.

Is it just me, or does that screen appear to be more rectangular as opposed to 1:1 square? The renders look 1:1, but all the photos I've seen of the device in Chen's hand make it look like it's a little taller than wide...

I believe that is an optical illusion due to the narrow side bezel and longer height.

I totally dislike phablet but this phone look so sexy. I totally agree on official photo passport is ugly but seeing it on chen's hands it look so hot. Could it be a more advanced version than the one one official photo? I expect.

I'd have to see how it feels in hand and what the capacitive keyboard is capable of. The 1:1 screen is an enormous turn off.

App scaling won't be an issue. Not with a 5" 1440x1440 screen. They'll be able to "letterbox" apps either vertically or horizontally for full-scale 16:9.

    This is a new form-factor: the square-phablet-with-a-keyboard.

is there any video of Chen's presentation?
I'd be curious to see him revealing the phones, even only from a journalist's smartphone grabbing the scene while talking off the scene (like the pics we see)

For those who find it awful, ridiculous etc. i think, as some who attended Blackberry Presentation have said before, that the device must be really better in real life.
Pictures from the front don't give the idea, only when you watch it a little on the side you can see that it's really slim and don't look that bad with what looks like a silvered edge around it and its shiny screen.

How and why is media consumption through the Passport disastrous?

I don't think this will work with one handed typing. It seems that the keys are way too low and will push the device when typing.

I know that this isn't made for one hand typing... but still

The loss of screen estate when playing video. It'll annoy people.
