I hope someone can help, every once and while when I go back and look at some pics I've taken the pic just disappears and can't be opened. The pic is still in the thumbnail though! Any thoughts?

Go in file manager and look in both the Media card and device for the pic file. Occasionally my SD card gets "loose" and the pic gets saved to the device. Worth a try.
