So opening an App and moving to an other is called multitasking...

What about writing an email, answering a call, check out some files, come back to complete the email and attach 3 files of different nature: a pic, a text file or PDF and may be a zipped file?

Faster processor, better RAM leads to a better execution speed. But it is not "multitasking"!

Exactly! Actual situations where you're streaming Internet radio and have it BT connected to a speaker system while typing up an email and switching back and forth between it and a game you only get about 30 seconds to play between messages from your colleagues (I know that last part is a bad example, shush, I'm going to bed)

I guess a good way to test out multi tasking is to:

Download and install a large game like real racing 3.

    Zip/unzip a large file.

    Load a heavy web page.

Have a virus program do a deep scan in the background.

All at the same time and see which phone completes this first.

I know on my Z30 if I do anything in tapatalk and go to something else when I go back to tapatalk it didn't load and loads after I go back. So it doesn't continue running in the background.

That's because it's an android app. In 10.3.1 there's a feature which allows android apps to "run while minimized"

Android app, running in the background is when the loaded app is doing work, trquesting services qhile another app is yp front.

Seems the android loader doesn't continue in the background, but maybe is does, I'll check.

I loaded each app fully before switching

If the loaded app doesn't ask for anything then it is just holding anyway

So that would be a no. Netflix was on hold while in the background. Did no finish loading.

But we don't switch native apps to the background while they load so doesn't mean more than android apps.load slowly on my Z19 with 10.2

    That's not news

It seems the only app that did work in the background was the stopwatch, everything else pause when minimized, including the browser.

Wrong. Read again, and the stopwatch was app#9. Was.off then on again, so the system kept that one going.

Don't recall them all but CB, beWeather and a few others kept working in the background. The apps has to request servicrs, not all do.

    The rral ppint is

None of the third party apps in the OP tests were doing anything in the background. They were all just parked in memory. Apple severely limits available background services, Android can do it but mainly doesn't. BlackBerry offers it to any app, real multitasking.

They all CAN do it, Apple seems to make it least available (seems to be long standing Apple policy).

The OP test was app loading and task switching of native apps and BlackBerry does that with ease.

What was up with that Sammy though, really stunk up that test..

I don't own any of these devices... So it's a no go for me lolll
Only if I had those devices!

JC, from the Asian Guy that Hates BlackBerry on YouTube
You could do the same test he did and send the video as a reply to his video (only if the passport wins lol) At least that way you only need to buy the passport (great excuse to finally buy it haha)

Why do you say they. The browser fetched a heavy web page and loaded in the background for me.

Play a video on youtube, then minimize the browser app, the youtube video will continue to play, it doesn't pause due to being minimized.

No, it has the same speed even though it's dual core... which is indeed a nice thing for iphone but apple makes their own cpus now, while blackberry can only choose from cpus of other vendors. Also just because it's dual core it doesn't mean it's cheaper to produce plus an application that actually depends on many cores will be still faster on a multi core cpu, so it might not actually worth it to produce 2 core cpus even if their performance/clock ratio is better.

Try playing a youtube video on an iPhone whilst using another app. Enough said about the iPhone's multitasking abilities.
