Has anybody used an unlocked US version Model SQW-100-1 in the UK, Spain, and/or Paris? I will be traveling there for 2 week soon.
I have checked the frequency which seems to cover it and T-Mobile supports a ton of the Blackberry Models for their smart choice plan, but when I search for the Passport on their site it is not listed as compatible. (Priv is as are much older models). Is this just a T_Mobile oversight and the Passport works fine or will I get there and be screwed?

Same for me. This is a great feature of tmobile. I have their US plan and travel without a problem to Europe, Turkey, Africa without any additional charges when using data and SMS.

don't forget to make sure your wifi dialing is working.
TMo didn't sell Passports. BB and TMo had a falling out and I believe after the Z10, TMo wouldn't sell BBs until the Priv.
Best way to use wifi calling? I downloaded Skype and an app called whats'call. Hoping that will cover me, but I may need to pony up a bit for actual talk time.
wifi calling on TMo is cost free.
When I had skype running on my Passport it sucks about 15% of the battery and is difficult to get to stop running in the background. I gave up and deleted the app.
For WiFi calling I find that Viber & Whatsapp are better quality than Skype and don't kill the battery near as quickly. Just got back from Venice & Amsterdam and had no issues at all. Rocking 24-7 with my Passport SE & semi retired Z10.

I found this Apps, and there are very good and even for free.
Wifi Calling or Messaging is not always only from Internet to internet!
