I wanted to use inst10 but there were security issues...i dont want my secured BlackBerry device to become insecure...just my thought tough.

Maybe do more research. Inst10 wasn't affected at all. Only my snap2chat app. And I fixed all other apps that had security holes for a long time now.

Still the same issue over and over again. I get the same notifications. Even though I tried to install and reinstall many times.

Yes I removed inst10 until issues are resolved and trying out Instagram from Google play.

I have no idea. Updated my att passport to the latest official OS, got mentioned in a few comments, and they showed up. I haven't posted a picture yet so not sure if they like notifications come in, but the mentions and tags definitely do. No red splat and the icon in the hub is just the standard bell thing. Also when I clicked them it opened the app and took me right to the picture I was mentioned/tagged in. Cool stuff

Inst10 was draining my battery like crazy I didn't know that until I removed it from the device. now without inst10 the battery is much better.

That's right I am also rcving notifications from the Instagram android version intact sometimes I rcv it faster than inst10. Inst10 is only good for customization of the interface, regrann, save photos, expand the photo. If you are a heavy Instagram user I guess inst10 would be a nice choice but if you are just a browser then android version is good enough.
