According to the article mentioned below passport had decent sale in india.
It has also compared the revenue generated between blackberry devices and iPhone. It's kind of depressing. But the silver lining is we have increased the revenue by full 1%. .

    Typical seeking Alpha "story"....

Sorry, they sell 3,400 Passport in October, and somehow the author thinks that will become 45,000 in twelve months, after the initial "frenzy" demand normally drops off a lot. Then he is using $800 per unit (does it sell for that much there now?), which I imagine much more than it will average out over the course of a year.

A sale of any number of devices at a profit is great! But you have to look a the real numbers - I very much doubt that Apple will sell 664 Thousand iPhone Plus over the next year in India either. But using the same logic they will.

It does show you the difference in the Passport and the Z3. They imported almost 10K Z3 and they were valued at less than the 3400 Passports, and I imagine the margins are MUCH lower per device.

As the above post points out, demand will certainly tail off. Indications of that are showing on Amazon sales rank.

Approx 4000 units sold in a month is nothing to shout about.

For this reason initial stock and price is very important. If people can t order more phones now, they will get plenty of options from other manufacturers later. I think BB PP is trying to create demand later point with color options which by itself not a bad option but it has to create a sustainable market quickly. When Nexus 6 lands in India, most of the phones going to take beating!

Exactly my point.. not at all enough to be significant. Need more numbers.

But it's india. Comparative figures are always low for flagship models due to purchasing capacity limitation.
