I was interested in this so I thought I'd share info in case anyone else was interested. I'm brand new to the forum so if this topic has been covered already I apologize in advance.

I'm currently running an ATT Go Phone standard prepaid sim in my Passport. I got the sim kit from Walgreens.

Phone specs: Black, unlocked from factory, 10.3.2.2226 software, SQW100-1 model.

Go phone plan: unlimited talk and text, 4.5gb data, 4G LTE
    $60 / month

As far as smartphones go, I've owned 2 iphones, 2 android phones, and the Passport is my second Blackberry phone. I only went away from 'Berry a couple years ago because there were some apps that I wanted to use but they didn't work on Blackberry. Now that Blackberry can run many Android apps I'm back in the game.

That's good news for me to hear. I switched Sims in my z10...and att, h20 and ST worked very well. But I was unsure about my Passport I bought an Att Passport and was wondering if a gophone sim would work in it. Thanks for the info. It was helpful to me.

How much data do you get with that? And is it at least 4g? I could look, but it's more helpful to know someone is using it. Did you have any issues with APN settings? Thanks in advance.

Cricket $35/mo here as well, works fine. It's unlimited talk + unlimited text + 2.5GB "LTE" data. Cricket throttles their LTE to 8Mbps max which is kind of a joke and scammy that they still market it as LTE, but doing day to day tasks I really don't notice.

That's a great deal!! Same coverage averages since they piggyback off ATT?

If the data question was directed at me: The go phone plan I have is unlimited talk and text and 4.5 gb of data per each payment period (30 days) I'm not a heavy user so 4.5 gb is plenty. I'm not sure what APN is but there was no problem getting the phone setup. I just followed the go phone sim card instructions. Only extra item not in the instructions is restarting the phone.

Not quite, you'll get coverage in AT&T tower areas, but you won't get any service in their 'extended coverage' areas that rely on partner towers (not sure how widespread that is).

They also supposedly give you lower priority access in congested areas.

I used a GoPhone sim card to try out the Passport for a month before I switched from Verizon and I really didn't notice much of a difference when I switched to post paid... so who knows.

@fish apn updated automatically upon insertion of the sim. I'm not a heavy data user on the road so I usually burn through 2 gb using pandora other than that I stay on WiFi at home. The cricket rep told me after the data limit is reached it locks at 3G service for the remainder. I can also tell the difference when it runs on their LTE compared to 4G
