Because I don't have $600 to burn on a new phone right now, when I already have two working phones: The Passport and a OnePlus One. So far, I haven't seen anything about the Priv that I just have to have.

I was pretty much dead set on a Priv, but now that logic is kicking in I'm very happy with my Classic and SE Passport.

Once the price and demand drops for the Priv, I may pick one up.

...because I'm pretty sure if I spent the time to read the forums, I could get Google Play Services working on the Passport, and then a full Android phone would have no advantages to offer me, while there is a lot about BB10 that I really like.

Oh, and this phone is the perfect form factor, in my opinion.

Keeping mine because it's a great phone, love OS 10 and I already have a G3 as a backup to get my Android fix.

I only want the priv to play with... but after a week of the new-ness of it, I'd get bored of it.

Honestly, I've had android phones, there's very little that it actually does that I can't on passport already. The only thing I would do is download apps and play a day or two and delete... and that gets boring quick

Why leave my Passport for the Priv when:
    1. I prefer BB10 OS over Android
    2. My Passport is not even one year old.
    3. My Passport does everything I need a mobile device to do and then some.
    4. I cannot justify the expenditure.
    5. I don't need a lot of apps

I am staying where I am because my unlocked BlackBeauty is a powerhouse tool that keeps me productive.

If there wasn't a Passport then I would give the Priv a good chance.

... because it's the best smartphone on the planet, hands down!!

Actually, I see it as a 4.5" square tablet with a physical keyboard and phone capabilities. Nothing like it anywhere else. If it were marketed as such, not as just another smart phone, I think folks would see the magic this device has. But the hardware platform is so good IMO that I really don't care at the end of the day which OS it runs, just as long as the hardware is enabled to the max.

Because I love BlackBerry 10 and really dislike Android.

If the Priv had bb10 as an option, I would consider it. Still would likely stay with passport though.

I agree with you on MOST of what you said about the Passport. Except, without a doubt, a big part of what makes it such a powerhouse is in the OS. The fact that I can access my laptop files from anywhere within the phone's native file manager is huge!

However, the market thinks that this is a 'giant smartphone' and doesn't think of it as a mini-tablet which is a shame. I actually don't use my Passport as a phone anymore but, rather, have it as a companion to my Classic and I love it as such! It would also be the perfect companion to any platform. It's not just a phone though so the Priv could not replace it for me.

I think all the valid points have already been made on why. I just wanted to put my 2 cents in cause I really love typing on this thing and was looking for an excuse to type this up while I responded to a couple of text messages via the toast notifications.

    Hello,

Because I realize that the conventional wisdom about apps doesn't apply heavily to me, and honestly if people really stepped back I suspect it wouldn't matter to them nearly as much either.

Eliminate games and add in the fact that there are these things called websites and there are very few things I really long for.

Or, in short I don't buy too heavily into the mindset Apple created and Android followed.
