Loving my PP so far, except noticing underwhelming battery life while streaming Pandora. Read the battery life gets drained while running Android apps (in my case, downloaded from the Amazon store.)

My question is: will idle Android apps negatively affect battery life? I downloaded a few games and Netflix and would like to keep them as long as they don't eat away at my battery life when they aren't running

    Thanks!

Best way to find out battery usage by app is to open device monitor and get the facts

All Android apps use more battery than native apps. You don't even have to look at app monitor, just feel the heat in your hand.

Oddly, the app I was constantly using shows very low consumption

Thanks. But -- if the Android apps aren't running, will they still contribute to battery drain?

Not true at all. Kind of a misleading blanket statement, don't you think?

No, they shouldn't. Again, best to use the device monitor to get a good idea of how much everything is using

Oh yeah, and don't forget to take the other Android processes into account... Android Media Apps and Android Player

Thanks for the help. All processes are "idle" in the CPU monitor and the battery monitor doesn't list any apps contributing to drain. I should be good to go. Thanks again!
