What I would like to see for the BlackBerry Passport is to be solar powered / Self Charging. Most of us always have a problem with battery life, malfunctioning chargers, etc.

This, in effect, helps the environment and lessens the issues (I don't know if it's the first in the market, but hey, it would be nice to start investing on renewable sources!)

My idea is that the phone doesn't fully rely on the solar charger, though. You can still plug it on an outlet.

This may be not original, but I hope someone gets to read this and have BlackBerry hear it.

I have not as much sun in my country :-/ but a 3800mAh Battery does the job, it must last the whole day, isn't it??

I would simply say two things

#1 a phone is typically in the user's pocket or used indoors I would guess about 90% of the time

#2 battery is not an issue with devices such as the z30

Oh, I see you're a fellow Q10 user... I got this bundle for 20 euros/dollars from Amazon, it is very useful!! Trust me, buy it and your device's power is no longer a problem!!! I am very satisfied!!

You can charge the device with it (small cable that can be hidden after), or swap the battery and the empty battery can be charged it that box with the normal charger of your Q10, so you leave it charging and stay mobile with your phone!!

My ultimate advice for you!!! Here the photos (of the german amazon site), Key words: "Q10 Battery Bundle"

No, it MUST last at least 3 whole days... 2 on heavy use.
If Android and Apple didn't started this useless war of power and ****ty apps, now we would have decent phones.

My reply on #1: maybe this is where I got this idea. I don't put it on my pocket. Usually, it's on my desk. If not, I put it on the table when i'm at a cafe or something.

#2: i'm a really heavy user and I prefer a physical keyboard. I just hope that the Passport will have the same battery power as the Z30.

That wouldn't be a bad thing, but you can purchase a solar charger, I have one and it works pretty well even in cloudy weather.

I just bought a massive backup battery from a vendor on eBay that has a solar panel on the back. Honestly, it won't charge much from the panel itself, but I keep it in the window so that it stays topped up.

I see they still have some for sale. It's enough juice to recharge a Z10 a good dozen times or so.

Another possibility: an external case with a built-in battery and solar cells on the back...
