I thought this was to be used as a medical device, in connection with the recent agreement signed between BlackBerry and a medical systems company.

    Posted using my BlackBerry Z30.
    It might be....

The phone is not designed with the the general public/consumers in mind. That should be quite obvious to ppl lol
Not that they wont stop you from buying it!
I don't see why you say that...

I don't buy this 'targeting niche markets ' thing. Do BlackBerry really think medical professionals will flock to this because they don't have iPhone and Android at home, get real! They will hate it and it will reaffirm how out of touch BlackBerry is!

I think everyone has the wrong idea about this.

The Q30 is a device made for enterprise and consumer markets.

The deal with Nandhealth is one which BlackBerry will customise the Q30 for the industry, meaning its not exactly the same phone. It may have different screens, software even hardware.

BlackBerry is just facilitating to as many partners as they can, this way they are assured sales and make it more worthwhile to manufacture a phone.

F??? unibody design. Nobody needs that. The Q10 is great as it is from an exterior design standpoint.
Why not? To have options to replace battery? Common we are replacing devices every year so battery is not issue.

Im very curious to see a unibody device with keyboard.

If you are going to do that ... Dylan Habkirk has calculated the device to be 120 mm x 88 mm or very very close to the size of your passport.

If it were up to me I would take the metal strip that you have on the top of the Porsche 9982 and place a similar strip of real metal on the top and bottom of the device. ( Not like the Z30 though). If I knew how to do a render, I would like to make a Porsche version of the Q30 at normal BlackBerry prices.

Nothing since bold 9900 has impressed me (have z10,z30,q10)... so hopefully the Classic and will be the breakthrough product they need on the qwerty front.

I don't think it looks nice, what it is however is innovative. Can't say that for too many mobile companies this day. It might be ugly but it's certainly something new.

I think that you are going to find that the 3.5 inch screen takes away from the need for a toolbar yet is still too small for "modern smartphoning". I think that the Q30 is the only chance for a QWERTY breakthrough.

I don't think the definition of "innovative" is doing something that everyone else isn't doing. I would say it is "different".

But I still don't understand apart from the beauty bold 9900 was crappy(Aged buggy OS,hour glass, battery pull, pathetic battery life). Hopefully the q30 should have brushed stainless steel bezel around which will make it attractive.

The worst experience I ever had with a BlackBerry was having to deal with the bricking/nuking 99xx line. It turned me off to BlackBerry almost completely. It took the Z10 to turn me on to BlackBerry again.

Best BlackBerry ever, for me, was the 9700.

The Windermere is just not my cup of tea. I want one to play with, but I won't buy one.

You said it.For me 9700 is the best legacy device which suited the OS.From my first salary I bought 9700 which is the only reason I went ahead with 9900,but it was a horrible experience. The moment you want to send an urgent email there comes the hour glass.Do the battery pull and wait forever to boot.Q10 was a fresh air after this experience.

Windermere if not beautiful like 9900,but if efficient and effective will be my next upgrade.

Yah I think, unless something else comes down the pike, that my next BlackBerry will be a white Z30 and/or a white Q10.

I'll take a Windermere if someone hands me one but that's not where my money will go.

    It's just plain ugly.

And yes, it matters if a device is ugly. I've read often here how "sexy" or how "hot" a device is.

What's touch sensitive? I'm honestly confused by that. All keyboards are touch sensitive.
