I never knew much about cell phone frequencies and bands, but in my area TMobile has pushed out Band 12 (Baltimore / Washington area), which my Passport doesn't support, but my previous phone did. It hasnt been an issue in terms of calls, but i noticed in some places i drop to Edge, where my previous phone had LTE. I dont think t-mobile has pushed out band 12 to alot of places yet, but they are "rolling" it out.

Its no surprise as T-Mobile does not offer the Passport.

If you're dropping LTE, you're just dropping data. However you still have Tmobile 4G hspa network to fall back on in which speeds are still great.

On a side note LTE drains battery faster when the signals are low that's why I locked my phone on HSPA only so I will always have good coverage.
