I have a Sprint Q10 SQN 100-4 (recently got it as replacement for the 9930). For international travel, I am trying to unlock the phone according to instructions from Sprint support:

Setup > Self Service > Menu > Unlock SIM

A message is displayed for a second or two: "Attempting SIM unlock..."

And then...nothing. No confirmation, no anything.

How do I know if it's locked or unlocked? Sprint says they see everything OK on their side but I don't see any message

    Can anyone help?

    This a known problem.
Sprint claims to unlock their Q10's for international use (i.e. Inserting a foreign sim card) but in reality it is impossible.

I tried every which way, but sprint still insists that it is unlocked when indeed it isn't.
It was mentioned here on CB that it was was hardware thing that sprint did, and it can actually never be unlocked.

They will keep claiming it is.....
