Will this be okay? I lost my original Blackberry charger and can't buy a replacement just yet.

If it works then it's good if it's not good it will tell you use the original charger

Thanks! Also, is there any specific wattage (5W, 12W or 15W) recommended for charging the Passport?

Just look for a Blackberry cube charger on the Crackberry Store. Got mine there and it charges fast.

I'm sure it will charge... but it depends on what how many mAh the charger outputs.

The original Passport charger comes with a 850mAh charger. Anything less will charger it slower... you may also get that msg that says you need to charge the device with the original charger if it doesn't output enough power.

If you are going to get a new charger, go with the BlackBerry PlayBook charger. You can get it at a very good price.

Original comes with 1.3 amp on 5V.

Your charger will be fine. Phone will only take in what it requires for optimal charge. Just don't go below 1.3amp.

That doesn't make sense. Optimal charging rate is 0.5C. 850 falls below that.

Sometimes I use my 12w iPad charger. Is that to much juice for it?

It's 2.1Amp, phone will take less. No issues at all.

For eg, moto g doesn't even come with a charger. The expectation is that most chargers and phones require min of 1A
