Did you try restarting the hub with 5 diagonal swipes downward from the top right corner?

Woooow it works! I had no idea of the magic swipe! I had no problems with the hub though.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I'm back on my old Z30 as now I can't get out of that black screen nor turn the phone off to reboot it. Just figuring out why I loved removable batteries so much! The swipe idea didn't work and I can't get Sachesi to recognise my phone at all to grab the bar file! This just might be the first BlackBerry to fail on me.

Sorry for your trouble, but that is an interesting problem. Looks like you may have to do a re-install or autoloader. Just to be clear: even if you hold the power button down for 20 seconds or so, it will NOT reboot?

Correct, I've even tried 30 seconds and nothing. Not sure what to do, let it drain the battery and recharge or keep it on a charger?

I would leave it plugged in for 1 more day then try some radical stuff.
I take it that your device is not on warranty anymore? I guess you would have called BB by now. And you tried to connect to Blackberry Link also, I assume. If you cannot get it to connect to your PC to use BL or to use an autoloader then you definitely have a brick, I am sorry to say. You could just let the battery run down to see if you get the warning. Maybe, with some luck, this will clear your device (sounds like wishful thinking, though!). If you go this route, keep it plugged into your PC at that point and see if you can "catch" the bootloader during an autoloader attempt. Good luck!

Don't charge it, I say let it drain. When it turns completely off, charge it fully then turn it on. Should work by then. If not, then there's something wrong with the version of the OS on your phone...

I see you're connected to mobile network. Try and call yourself, maybe that could force the Hub to close? I doubt it will work since hard reset didn't even work. Weird.

    Good luck, Numan!

I just saw Gary Numan at the Gramercy Theater in NYC a few weeks ago. He was great! Bought a bunch of his new stuff after the concert. Also very good!

No, no warranty. This is one of the first batch PPs, I was thrilled when it didn't develop the infamous screen lift!

Won't connect to Link or Blend, PC doesn't recognise the drives either. Leaving device to power down, not quite there yet it seems.

Let it drain over night but still not quite there yet. I did try calling myself but it went right to VM.

keep in mind that letting the battery drain it will still have little juice enough not to reset your phone ,i would take it apart and disconnect the battery but i doubt that will fix it
holding the power button should've done it

All is lost. Drained down to zero while at work and plugged into charger. I get 3 flashing red blinks then a long one (30 seconds or so), then nothing. Tried several times with the same result. Left on charge but there's no boost at all and phone won't turn on at all now. Sad, good device and the first BlackBerry to have ever let me down.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like that is the end, but did you try plugging it into your PC, holding the power button down 15-20 seconds just AFTER clicking your Autoloader .exe file on your PC? It is a timing thing and will only work if you see a red LED flash on your Passport after that 15-20 second power button hold down. I have had to try this 2-3 times sometimes to "catch" the bootloader. If you don't even see the red LED (and I'm guessing you won't) then it will not work. If you do retry this make sure you have charged your Passport again for an hour or so.
