I had a blackberry q10 before and even a small device I enjoyed when I had it on table and press a button on keyboard to wake up. Now I have the big passport and I have to press the top button to wake up.

I can accept it as it is but will be happy if blackberry add that option on new update. I heard that on 10.3.1 they have option to press u and enter but still there are 2 buttons.

    What do you think?

From flat surface if you pick it up it automatically wakes up, credits to advanced interaction. Else I use the lock key on the top.

I don't want to unlock it, but only wake up. Since we have BlackBerry we like the physical keyboard, we like to press buttons so I suggest to BlackBerry to add this function.

U wakes the device and one swipe up. Enter is not necessary. Also if you enable swipe to wake in display settings, one swipe up is all that's needed, unless you're on 10.3.1. Then it's two swipes up

With the Q10, pressing any of the number keys would just turn on the display of the phone to bring you to the lock screen. You could preview your received messages. That is missing from the passport. I guess that is what the OP means here. Yes they should add this to the Passport. I use this a lot on my phone.

For this option, after loading up 10.3.1.1154, I can now use U and Enter combination to open the screen rather than swiping. If you only want to view the locked screen then press only U, the screen should light up.

I just swipe from the bottom of the screen also. Maybe there should be a thread with this type of information? I found it by accident.

Exactly, you speak my words. Hurray to Advanced Interaction feature.

I like the flip to silence too.

I just put my Passport face down, which puts the phone into power save mode. When I pick it up from the face down position it wakes itself up. I believe I had to engage the Advanced Options for this feature.

I just swipe up enough to reveal it. Have to admit it is more difficult doing this with the Passport than Z10. Occasionally I swipe up too far and it opens up the home screen not just lock screen view.

    Cheers

I prefer to whisper "Time to get us, sleepyhead" into it's mic and stroke it's bezel to slowly ease it back to wakefulness.

I always try to yell at him, but he's sensitive.

I usually just swipe up, I use active interactions to just pick it up because I'm extremely lazy on the weekends.

Thanks for the UEnter tip. That may become my go to move.
