I am not enjoying the universal search feature on the passport. Particularly how the last search remains there and you have to hit the X to delete the search bar before you type your new search in. This is one feature the q10 did better.

I think I'd rather use a keyboard shortcut to bring up the browser and search there since most of the search terms are for the browser anyway.

How do you switch from universal search to keyboard shortcuts?

Install the 10.3.1 leak and you will get an option to do that

I don't belive this has been an option yet. I am not 100% sure what you are referencing regarding the Q10.
In the 10.3.1 leaks and the upcoming official OS release they are introducing the keyboard shortcuts to BB10.
The Classic also has this feature now since it was launched with 10.3.1.
