    Hello,

How to re calibrate my battery ??
Do I need to discharge my phone from 100% to 0% ?? My battery showing me 8 hours of battery life from 100%. I have my passport since 1 month never had problem before. So I did a hard reset. A fresh install and it is still the same. My battery going down really fast. I do not have any android apps.
    What's the procedure for calibration??

I believe if you have it charging and you do a hard reset a couple of times. No reason you battery should show this. Let's see you device monitor screen.

The battery (lithium ion) does not need to be calibrated. DO you think it may be an app that is constantly pushing information deleting battery power? Ive had my device since launch day and even by bed time with normal usage I still have about 55% battery life remaining at the end of day.

When it shows you 8 hr of battery more, it calculates from your immediate previous usage and that may not reflect your actual usage during the day.
When the low battery warning (red battery) comes up after 8 hr of usage, you may have a problem. Check under battery usage to see which app/function having been consuming your battery away and you'll find the reason.
For me, Skype, which was preinstalled, was really funny. I never open the app on my Passport, but one afternoon last week, it appeared to run by itself as it consumed more than 30% of battery in less than 2 hr. And I had never open Skype, not to say logging in.

    Try this

    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/19908036

^ use that to view battery health.
Charge batter to 100% and wait for the app to show that charging is complete
Then with the charger still connected, restart the phone.
Check the app again after, and see if the battery health changed

These are the apps I use, and following is my battery usage yesterday. I streamed slacker for 2 hours in the morning, and for 5 hours immediately after that I streamed nobex. Posted on forums like mad like I usually do and did work on it. My battery is performing very well I'm my opinion.

Please give us an update on this after a day or two. It could help many other passport users that may have the same issue.

I prefer to never fully discharge my battery.

What works for me, as I posted above. Is the opposite.

Charge to full, then reboot while connected to charger and check battery health. If low, continue charging

I agree. Don't discharge. Charge to 100% then hard reset with volume rockers while the device is still connected to the charger.

What has always worked for me is to fully drain and recharge the battery 3 times in a row. I've always done this with all my smartphones when the battery life has started decreasing, and it has always helped. I also follow this procedure every time I buy a new phone. I know some people say that you should never fully drain the battery. However, from personal experience, doing this once in a while has always improved the battery life on my devices.
