Yesterday I had to perform a hardreset (Pressing volume buttons while the PP is 100% but still on power supply) because the battery's indicator was not anymore accurate. It's been for 3 weeks that I got the PP.
So I was wondering if you guys / girls have to perform this kind of hardreset regularly to get a clean system.
Had to do it yesterday for the first time. Plugged the phone in the charger and screen went haywire and the text was not compressed properly. Passed out for 2 hours woke up saw my screen on, phone barely responding, and it was boiling hot. Only option was a hard reset as a regular one didn't help.
A restart using the power button twice. Haven't had to do a hard reset using the volume buttons yet. Browser on occasion gets a little hung up randomly but otherwise 99.99% reliable overall.
Around 3 or 4 times over the past 6 weeks. If I see something odd with the OS I just go ahead and do the hard reset. Always gets things back to normal.
Last time I did it was because I closed down an android music player but the music wouldn't stop playing.
I've had to do it recently many times. I think the culprit was an Android app, but Passport got really slow. Kept stuttering. It took minutes for hub to open and respond.
I find that after a few days of operation the device has issues with the camera, displaying pictures, or listening to music from the device. Those apps just do not load. A normal restart corrects the issue. It kind of depends on how often you use the specific apps.
Never had to hard reset mine yet, it is a first batch one ordered on release day too.
On the 1016(?) ATT dev OS leak I had one random reboot and a couple times had some flashing apps that would need to be closed and reopened though. Those small issues went away with the more mature 1151 build, and it has been flawless since then.
Have never restarted the passport other than when I brought it to tmobile to swap a new sim. As a matter of fact. It's never been off since then. It's been turned on since the 7th
