Well I have a grandfathered plan but decided to try out the PP on Tmobile for a bit. What I think I'm going to end up doing is keeping both for a couple of months to see what happens in the future with Verizon support of BlackBerry.
Right now I have a $30 plan on Tmobile with 5gb and 100 minutes of talk. The way I have it set up now, I use a Verizon app that allows me to get my texts on the Passport and carry the Z10 for voice using Verizon.
If I can get away with just 100 min then I will forward all my VZW calls to my Tmobile number. Not sure about that one yet.

Passport works on AT&T LTE out of the box. I heard some people had issues. So it may depend on where you live. I'm in eastern PA.

Yep switched from Verizon to ATT. I travel extensively in my job and find zero difference in coverage whatsoever.
Nice to have the freedom to choose when possessing an unlocked phone.

Agreed.
Posted Securely Via BlackBerry 10.
If I don't hear any rumors about a VZW Passport by Nov. 15th, I will be switching.
Verizon has awesome coverage, but they are overrated.
I travel all over Indiana with T-Mobile and I do ok. Verizon would be better but also cost a lot more.
Att is just about the same and was better until VZW rolled out LTE.
The ads are misleading as they compare VZW LTE without acknowledging that ATT has HSPA+

I agree, VZW has the best service, customer service, and website. I manage a business account and I wouldn't switch for a phone.
I really want the PP but I may be out of luck..
Verizon has the worst customer service in the business. I have had them all and when it comes to customer service Verizon and Sprint are at the bottom. The do have the best website of all of them though. I am switching back to ATT Tuesday when my passport arrives and I cant wait. Reception here in Pittsburgh is much better on ATT than on verizon and I cant wait to have signal at my house again.
Don't plan to get a new phone until November of 2015 (those carrier subsidized prices are great for a family on a budget) when our contract is up. Hoping for a new touch BlackBerry on Verizon by then. If not I'll be sticking to my Z10 since they seem to have stopped selling the z30.

Me. Today is my last day as a Verizon customer. My Passport will be delivered FedEX tomorrow!! :).
Already have my AT&T contract signed and iPhone 6 I got from it is currently on eBay for $600 to some sucker. ;)

I'm on the fence here. AT&T has great coverage here in the Philly suburbs. Problem is there is no AT&T service in MY HOUSE. Go out to the car in the morning and get slammed with voicemails, emails, etc. now that was 3 years ago so may have improved but, I'd have to buy at ShopBlackBerry or Amazon then open account at AT&T and port phone number from VZW just to test it out. Just not sure it's worth it. Maybe see if VZW comes around.
What about inviting a friend or family member with AT&T service over?
A second option would be testing an AT&T SIM card in your (unlocked) Q10. It may not give you a clear idea about LTE availability, but it should tell you if AT&T's 3G/HSPA+ network penetrates your home.
Maybe I'm dumb, but I don't pick my carrier based on the phone available. I'm have both tmobile and verizon. Also had att. In NY ATT still sucks. More dropped calls than tmobile in some places. I need my work line to be on verizon bc they have hands down the best service by far.

It just depends. Where I live everyone has good service. So it comes down to other factors such as price and phone availability.
AT&T and T-Mobile give you the best option for devices. It's never hard to obtain one even when it's not sold directly.

Raises hand. I am.
Bighat
Verizon cannot go to EDGE because Verizon does not have a GSM network. Verizon can drop back to 1xRTT (which will be indicated usually with a 1x) from "3G" (which is EVDO Rev A)
I just switched. My wife will be switching to att this week as well but she will be using a z10. It's not just passport users that are switching but other family members as well.

I think the better question is how many people have said screw the carriers completely and bought the phone outright as that's the only way it's available.
I think if anything that says loads about BlackBerry staying power that even without carrier support across the board they are selling very well.

I bought one from Amazon- had to wait to so as not to pay a premium price over the suggested $599. It was well worth it- MyZ10 is a Verizon, but the Passport is GSM- so I decided to get a T-Mobile sim and number(best options for European travel)... No one at the T-Mobile Store had heard of it- the Store manager was even surprised Blackberry was still around- BUT- they all flipped over it ! What should have taken 10 minutes was over 45, as everyone in the store wanted to play with it- and were very impressed- the manager even started playing YouTube videos on Passport use - displaying them on the Stores Big screen for all to see- ITS AN AWSOME phone- and I love it ! It works great on the T-Mobile 4g Network- NO issues-
I applaud you for two things, first the idea of having an AT&T customer come over. Second, using the word penetrate in the post. So I literally don't know anyone with AT&T and there is only one type of penetration at Rosco's house, lol. I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestions. I can always go to AT&T and buy a phone on contract, try it out, then return it within 14 days.
Wish I could, but with a 10GB share plan and 4 smartphones and a basic phone on my plan, it would cost me another $60/month to move just my line. My Q10 is paid, so I only pay $15/month for access plus the data plan, which I could only drop to maybe a 6GB plan for the other 3 smartphones and that would only save $20. An individual 4GB plan plus access just for me would be $90/month. Way too much of an increase.

Cracked, I'm in same boat. I got like 5months left on my vzw contract. In ne phila, service is the same all around it seems. I know people on att and tmo. Since I'm probably gonna leave my vzw account open so I don't have to take brand new phone to construction site. I'm gonna do one of those monthly prepaid Sims. Try tmobile first as they have the better plans for the dollar.
Only thing is a new number. Wonder if at end of vzw, I could transfer number over. Or I'd have to cancel vzw, and get an adapter for the nano sim to work in q10.
Choices choices choices.

Tmobile is all contract free now.
So you can even get a real postpaid plan without signing up for an annual contract and of course that means you get better customer service etc.
