Using passport but I am also using priv.

Still keeping my passport as a backup until I am very sure that the priv is able to replace the passport in the email aspect of things.

I feel bb10 is able to manage emails with tons of folders in imap faster and more reliable than priv at this moment.

I see the priv community is getting bigger here due to android OS, but for Blackberry10 it will slowly decreasing, we can see the amount of the used Passport selling for cheap price in gumtree/carousell..

Just curious, what do you think of priv keyboard, jumping from passport before, big difference? Or you use vkb instead of pkb after using priv? Thanks.

The first time when I use the priv keyboard, it was a nightmare.
It took be very long, almost took me close to a month to get used to it.
It seems that going from small to big is way easier than the other way round.

Now when I use my passport keyboard, it no longer feels nature, it feels that I am stretching my fingers and hand to type things.

For the priv, I would say I use the keyboard almost 70 percent of the time as I uses a lot of email.

Coming from my last legacy BlackBerry, the Torch 9810, I know how you feel. The cramped keyboard of the Priv is slightly wider than that of the Torch. It's kinda difficult to get the typing right. My last BB10 device was the Q10, which had what I thought was a significant improvement over even the 9900 for it's keyboard. Using a Passport now, I would find it difficult to go on to something smaller.

Like Klein, I write and respond to emails a lot (I hardly use my laptop for work-related emails), and the spacious keyboard on the Passport really helps here.

I tried the Priv at a SingTel store the other day, and whilst the keyboard has a softer tactile feel than the Black Passport, it still felt significantly more limiting due to it's smaller surface area.

One thing I found perplexing was the move to the more conventional 16:9 form factor for the screen on the Priv. Perhaps this was due to limitations of design imposed upon by Google.

I still prefer the use of the square screen for reading and editing documents on the Passport. I guess the Passport was designed for the very niche business professional, as opposed to the Priv.

I totally and fully agree with you ...

There are functions on the passport which i still feels works better and faster like the searching of emails and on overseas trips, the battery life on the passport is way more reliable.

Although I am kind of used to the keyboard of the priv now, i also rotate to and fro between the Priv and the passport when replying mails and searching.

For my every day carry devices, I am holding a Priv, Passport and a powerbank hahaha

My secondhand Passport, being an original Black, doesn't have that great a battery life anymore, so I typically keep it on 2G mode with data switched on so that my emails and other data (BBM, WeChat, Whatsapp) still comes in, with a manual switchover to 3G when I need to use the Internet. This allows me to have a reasonably good battery life when I'm out and about, without a powerbank or charger access.

I actually have a new LG V10 too, but that cannot compare to the productivity I can still get from BB10 & the Passport. The V10 has been loaded with the cracked BlackBerry Priv apps to make it usable! In case you're wondering why I bought the V10, I got the Passport as a gift from a friend (who moved to a Priv) a few weeks after I bought the V10 - a new Priv was beyond my budget.
