I've just bought a phone and the guy did a security wipe on it and it is taking forever, it been 12 hours and it's only at 97% when I went to bed it was at 94% it seems to be getting slower every percentage. how long do these things really take?

Not unheard of. There are OS versions out there that have this glitch. See this thread for the solution. http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe.../#post11988797
tried doing that but didn't end up working because it won't download, its really weird, I'm now a little past 24 hours and its very very frustrating because i got this phone yesterday and the guy said it would just take about 15-20 minutes, but he did have a lot of stuff on there
That happened to my Z30. What I did was when it got stuck at 98% (for eight hours), the first thing I thought of doing was doing a hard reset (Hold down on the up and down volume buttons until it restarts).
My phone turned off and started back up at 0% but went all the way up to 100% and finished in under an hour.

thank you so much, but I'm really scared that it might not start up again, i just wanted to make sure this was safe. so this worked fibre for you right?
sorry again, i just want to be sure
I was afraid of that as well, but I had no other choice since the device was stuck, but it worked out pretty well. And if ever it didn't start up again, I always had a backup option of resorting to connecting my phone to BlackBerry Link.
But yes, it worked just fine.
