I know this is the wrong thread but I wish they would go back to the og names like Bold, Pearl, Tour, Storm, etc. And then just name them the Bold1, Bold2, Bold3, etc. In my opinion it would be easier for people to remember than Q5, Q10, Z30, Z10, future slider, future Q, etc.

But I think they should go with a Q11. Just a refined and perfected version of the Q10. A Q30 would be too big of a jump after only a year.. by that logic we would be at a Q100 in only a couple years.. haha

Nope a Q11 is not enough . Most of the folks who were waiting for the Q10 to update their Bolds have done so. They need a big jump in screen size to stay in the game and be supported by carriers.

Well the screen should be bigger. Only to the bezel on the current Q10 though.. have you read any of the threads on a Q30 or the sliders? They're way too big and awkward. They have the Z series for big screens. The Q10 is almost perfect if they just extended the screen to the bezels

I know for a fact that a Q10 type device but with a larger screen is planned as well as an upgraded Z10 / touch screen device. When and where you will see one or if you will I have no idea.

A bezel reduction might increase the screen size from 3.1 inches to 3.25 inches and I think I am being generous. In my opinion BB needs to go from a 1:1 screen to a 4:3 screen. A taller Q10 will still have good ergonomics. A 3 inch device has a very limited market unless they manage to make a Curve that sells for $50.

Blackberry has always had the problem adding arbitrary numbers after their phone lines. I had a Curve 8350 and my friend had a Curve 8530. Why couldn't they just be The Curve 2 or whatever. Z10 Z30 Q5 Q10 Q30. I mean I think it's obvious higher number means better buuuuuut give them a name and we can just do generational iterations instead completely different devices.

    Cheap Small Touch Screen - Z 1, next gen refresh Z 2
    Expensive Large Touch Screen - T 1, T 2
    Cheap QWERTY - Q 1, Q 2
    Expensive QWERTY - W 1, W 2

So are we all wanting a Q30 to be something like this?

    http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=879333

    Minus iOS7 of course!

But the form factor is about right, nice wide screen display and the straight row keyboard.

If that case company isn't Chinese then BlackBerry need to get them shut down, talk about stealing your 'look and feel'. If it's Chinese it's obviously not worth the hassle.

I hate the arbitrary number system that they had back in the day and it reminds me of the mind-numbing system that Nokia had back in the day and continued on with Windows Phone. It gets real silly and out of hand, fast.

I'll say 100% likely there will be a new keyboarded device in the future, but I'll be it's naming scheme makes little to no sense.

    Introducing the Q73.

Trouble is that there is not one physical Keyboard phone that suits all.

If I was a prosumer I would probably like a slightly wider Q10 but with the missing buttons and trackpad of the 9900.

If I like the current Q10 but would want to have better media / internet possibilities perhaps a 4:3 screen would satisfy me.

If I would like a Z10 or Z30 but just can not use a virtual Keyboard then a Slider based on a Z is the ticket.

Do they need three models knowing that the three together might sell better than just one alone?

I think you should move with the times....lol... those were "old" devices, these are the new BlackBerry's with a different OS, change is good.

Well then come up with a new name. I just think a name is better than a letter and a number.

Here is how I understand the naming scheme. Z10 - os 10.0(release 1 = 10x1), Q10-os 10.1(release 1 for keyboard devices but technically should have been release 2 and therefore called a Q20 =10x2 but I think they originally intended for it to be released on 10.0 and for simplicity's sake went with Q10), Z30 -os 10.2(release 3 -10x3= 30), again they will probably call the next qwerty device the Q30 even though it should be called the Q40 seeing as it will be released alongside their 4th major OS release 10.2.1 but will likely call it the Q30 just to maintain the idea of parity with the z30, the next devices are already being called the z50 and q50, which would go right along with the schema above since it would be released alongside the 5th major OS release 10.3 and 10x5=50

The problem isn't the names, numbers or looks.

The problem is whether i can get it at a carrier because with a mortgage , kid and school expenses i will not be paying full price upfront and from what the market has shown consumers feel the same way.
