Well, they actually were. The guys even googled it for you...Either go on Offliberty - evidence of offline life and paste your Youtube-Link or get https://rg3.github.io/youtube-dl/ and run in a terminal app of your choice - "python3.2 youtube-dl [URL]".

    1. Download this https://www.dropbox.com/s/osj00x4ikm...nager.bar?dl=0
    2. Sideload it with sachesi or chrome extension bb10
    3. Open youtube.com in bb browser then enter the video.
    3. There are 3 dots in the bottom right corner then choose "share".
    4. Choose "download manager" and download the video

My favorite way for downloading Youtube videos is put "ss" in front of the "youtube". For example the youtube link is "youtube.com/watchblabla", then insert "ss" so it become "ssyoutube.com/watchblabla".

Third party site, but I've been using it for a while and no issue at all. You can even choose different video quality, or even safe it as sound file.

I use FastTube. Can't technically download, but you can prefetch which loads them on your device. You can't transfer or save them, but I use it to download a few for a flight here and there.

Even simpler --- just have 2 tabs open in your browser. One being youtube and the other just Google youtube to mp3 and click the first top link

Copy the youtube url in one of your tabs and paste it in the box in your open 2nd tab.. click convert. It literally takes 1.5 seconds. Then click download.

It will now be saved in your music library

sounds very promising but when i start the download nothing happens... i have the 3 dots that blink like it's downloading and after a few seconds it stops but nothing is downloaded.
i tried desktop and mobile mode, same result.
On the other hand it works perfectly on my pc...

    Thank you!

Does this method allow you to save videos as MP3's? Or another way to put it, does it let you to choose which format to save the video in?

I use CacheTube from BBW. Works like a dream and so so simple. Your average iPhone user wouldn't even have a problem.
