I've been surprised at how many people have asked about my Passport. It's certainly turned more heads than the Z30, Q10, or Z10 did. Lots of people seem to ask with curiosity. Most are very impressed when I tell them about the battery life. Not sure if they believe me when I tell them that it fits better in my pocket than the Z30 did. I've had mine for almost a month now and can't imagine switching back to a slab phone. I'm also quite surprised at how natural the capacitive keyboard is now.

I get the "what the hell is that" line. Then when I say it's a Blackberry I get "is it new" or "what is this 2004". Once the initial q&a is over it goes one of two ways. Either the person is curious and wants to know more, or they want to tell me why and how their phone is soooooo much better.

I have other BlackBerry users (Z10, Q10 and Z30) grab it and play with it and say "The size really isn't that bad." And then say "That's my next phone.". Old BlackBerry users usually say that they miss the physical keyboard and like the new keyboard on the Passport. They might come back.

"That phone is f***ing ugly" (very subjective, I think it is wonderfully designed)
"Why would you get a phone with a physical keyboard?" (just wow)
"Why is it so wide?" or "leave your TV at home"
"BlackBerry? You paid $250 on contract for a BlackBerry?"
"There are no apps, have fun with brickbreaker"
"Are you a businessman?"

Well, some people think that a virtual keyboard can beat a PKB with touch sensitivity? Tactile feel and gestures = big win

I don't blame my friends as much as I blame the media. They have put the thought into the heads of the consumer that BlackBerry is inferior and iOS and Android are the best. Well, I don't need to give a speech on what you guys already know.

Was at a conference this past weekend and literally had to give 15-20 mini reviews and demos of the passport to interested people. Even my wife was shocked at how may people wanted to see it. Varying age groups too from low 20's to late 50's

I was in Dallas today with maybe ten well heeled lawyers and none of them had any idea what it was. They didn't even know it was a Blackberry. When asked I said "it is a Blackberry" and all but one was immediately disinterested; her comment was that it was amazing how things come full circle and that she fondly remembered her Palm phone. She was clearly focused on the keyboard and screen.

I really don't care to evangelize or defend my phone choice except at the AT&T store. For some reason when I am at AT&T I feel the need to show it to the employees and customers, neither of whom seem to ever have heard of it or seen one. That sort of irks me, I guess, because I can't be the only one who gets frustrated with an iPhone or Android.

I just told her my phone was just a tool and Blackberry is the only brand that tames my constant stream of emails, calendar and task items, and texts.

I get asked "what is that" just about everywhere I go and even now have never seen another one.
