Hi everyone, happy passport owner here. I was very excited to get the passport and use it to view charts and graphs on bloomberg. To my dismay, they pulled their excellent native bb10 app and instead put a laggy android port on. Why is that??? Can anyone tell me how to put the native bloomberg back on?

I'd love to know too. I updated and it gave me that Android app, complete with the pixelated app icon.

One would think that an app like Bloomberg would be something BlackBerry would try to get to run natively on their platform, for what is arguably their biggest selling business device yet (the Passport).

It's not like Bloomberg News is Candy Crush or some consumer game, you know? The Passport is way too nice of a device to be just a fancy Android app runner.

Exactly! I was actually really excited to start up Bloomberg and look at the charts and financial statements on the Passports screen, only to find the Android Port. It "works" but native is so much better.

I've been ignoring the update notification because of this! Glad I have the native version installed before the swapped it for Android.

I imagine they did this because there was some work required to format the native app properly for Passport. It works, but many things don't scale right. Hopefully they will change their mind and update back to native.

Is the android port only on the passport? Cause I still have the native one... and I checked on BBW and it's also the native one. I'm on Z30STA100-5/10.2.1.3247

Bloomberg guy that spoke during Passport launch said that the app that he previewed then will be released at the end of October.. You can have a look at the launch event as well to see the preview of the app yourself..

I still have my BlackBerry Bloomberg strangely enough, though I too had the update as well, giving me the Android App as well, which is garbage compared to BlackBerry version. I deleted it.

The aspect is very odd, for obvious reasons, it is the Q10 and Q5 version.

Passport, it's the optimal viewing experience.

Passport is only device getting the Android version of the consumer app. All other BlackBerry 10 devices still getting the native app.

The app demoed by Bloomberg at the Passport launch was the professional app that is only available to professional Bloomberg users with paid subscriptions.

This is such BS. Why go backwards when you can move forward. I Hope they are seeing this.

I really hope they update that app soon. This port isn't cutting it for me. My work around for now was opening Google Finance in the browser and adding It to my homepage. Opens to my portfolio for a quick look at how terrible they are doing.

If you backed up your device at any point, you could restore the app via a Link backup.

Although I'm not sure that will work to another device... hmmm. I'm going to try that.

I managed to get it on the passport. The news stories are not optimized for the passport. It shows two stories side by side and they are cut off.

What I miss with the new Android version is it won't allow you to cut and paste stories and the twitter function doesn't seem to work.

I like the android port better than bb10 version...arial fonts, easy to read, similar to bb7 app..
Bb10 version got too much transitions and weird font
