Just wondering how everyone unlocks the screen on their passport.... swiping up on the screen, pressing the 'u' key, or pressing the power button? I have a passport SE. I tend to press the 'u' key the most as the passport will nearly always be resting on a flat surface and swiping up on the screen isn't always as responsive as I'd like.

I turn off swipe to wake to save battery power.

I'm also set to password enable after one minute, I use the 'u' key to unlock as its much easier than trying to hit the power on top

Using both U key and swipe gesture but recently I use the U key more than before. When it becomes my habit I'm gonna disabled the gesture to get some more juice

Swipe up addicted, pwd protection kicks in after a minute of non use.

Out of curiosity, how much juice are we talking about here?

I didn't realize the 'swipe up' gesture consumed any noticeable battery but I'll definitely be on the lookout.

Minimal, as it needs next to no current flowing to the screen, however with that, it supplies enough current to keep the screen in an 'awake' type state, and you can have random unlocks. If your password protected it's fine as the device will just go back to sleep, but have a constant wake lock like that can eventually drain battery.

Because of a couple pocket dialing 911 incidences on my Z30 a while back I have since used the power on button on all devices. Also have pocketsafe app, may be overkill and may delete.

Flip cover with a magnet, just opening the case wakes the screen. Then swipe up for picture password. Or if it's uncovered, just swipe up.

So much easier than reaching to hit that power button. Seriously wish they changed the design of the power button for the silver edition.

I think it would be useful if blackberry added a little 'dimple' to the keyboard 'u' button. Finding the the 'u' key can be a bit hit and miss when it's dark and I'm half asleep.
