How exactly are you trying to send them? Via BBM, SMS, Whatsapp, Facebook?

That's not a carrier supported feature in MMS. It didn't work on my Android phone sending to other Android phones or iPhones, so I would not expect it to work here. Best thing to do is to send via email or send them the direct URL link.

Bbm has worked for me as long as the gif fits the file size constants etc. Just have the person receiving the picture, select HQ (request high quality). Once the full HQ image is downloaded it should be animated on their end.

I have also had no problem using mms to send gifs. But I think there could be restrictions on the media depending on your carrier and data plan.

    Hope this helps.
