For the virtual keyboard you want find the option under the input settings, feedback
there is not such an option, you hear only the mechanical noise of the physical keyboard.

Last time I checked, keyboard sounds are used with virtual keyboards to provide feedback and mimic sounds of a physical keyboard.
On the Passport, the physical keyboard makes organic clicky sounds when you press it, so......
The keyboard sound in virtual keyboard (sometimes accompanied by small vibrations) makes our subconscious concious that we are pressing the (right) keys. In physical keyboard, that sound is probably redundant as you can now feel, not only hear the clicking sound (in its natural state), but also feel the key's up and down motion while typing on it. Unless you intend to make and compose a harmonic master-piece sound similar to piano, 'yes', we need that keyboard's sound...
