How? That's impossible on BB10. If you mean an android app, just minimize it, and uninstall it.

It can't override your Passport's OS. But I guess it could still destroy files because it has access to them through symlinks.

Connect through Sachesi and remove the last programs you installed perhaps?

That's one thing I like about Android.... there is a "boot to safe mode" option.

I did install and Android Game one time that I just could not exit out of. Not swiping to minimize it, or the access settings would do anything. Pushing the power button did lock the screen, but when it unlocked the game was full screen again.

But a reboot killed it and I just deleted the game.

If you can see you programs and documents then it sounds like you have access to the BB10 UI, should be able to go into Settings > Device Manager and just kill the active program and then uninstall it. It's when this ransomware takes over and blocks all access to anything that you have a real problem.

Replace it for a Privvy, that's got DTEK and you can buy antivirus software from Google Play at a real nice price.

72 hours and you've left the phone on, presumably charged it, etc, whilst it's destroying your files?! Turn it off and take a back up!!

I'd like to know what the resolution was as well.

I always wait for BlackBerry Guardian to inspect any Android APK before installing it. With the state BlackBerry is in right now I'm not confident that it's totally effective.

What kind of app did you install that caused the ransom ware?

Ransom ware totally Sucks which means we all have to be diligent.
