Hey everyone. Picked up my Passport yesterday and am enjoying the experience so far even though it is taking me forever to get used to the size!

One question I have for anyone in the know - how do I get Instagram on my passport!? I've downloaded the 1mobile store but I can't access it as the APK file is zipped... I have tried to unzip or extract it but am not having much joy.

    Any ideas?!

You can download iGrann from BlackBerry World or download Instagram from the Google Play store using Snap. I read that one of these two will work perfectly, but I could be wrong.

You will install Snap on your phone. You can install it through your Mac if you use the Google Chrome plugin method.

If a file you download like that is named *.apk.zip, just remove the .zip part.

That will allow you to install it on your device.

Or you can try finding the recent instagram .apk on one of the few sites offering .apk files directly for download. Just download the file and install it right within the device.

Hopefully not double-typed with my Q10

Thanks for the responses guys. However the renaming of the file is the bit that's confusing me as when I do rename it just opens the files in file manager and they all mean nothing to me...

As you can see from the screen shots, file manager is showing then as zipped but when you do select to unzip there's an error message...

Aneres: don't open the file, but press-and-hold it. That should open an option menu in the right side of the screen.
From there select Properties and the Edit from the bottom. That will allow you to change the file extension.

I already downloaded igrann and I have to say I'm not that impressed with it. It worked well on my Q10 but its not quite the same on the passport. And with some apps now giving you the option to hide the bottom bar and for you to zoom out of the app makes me wanna try instagram out to see if it's an improved experience over the Q10.

If I were you I would delete 1 mobile and all the files downloaded or associated with it and then install SNAP using sachesi.

    It's very easy.

First connect phone to computer via USB cable.

    1. Download sachesi.
    2. Download snap.
    3. Open sachesi, enter password,
    4. Go to install tab. Drag and drop snap.bar

    Done!

Now open snap, log in and then have access to every android app on Google play.

Oh! Open the File manager and go to Device/Downloads. That is where your downloads are located.
That screen from the browser is just a shortcut to open them.

It's the link from this website when we first were able to download android apps. However it is slightly different now to what it was when I last used it...

    http://market.1mobile.com/

It may have something to do with that?
