I don't know, I don't see it. I don't understand why they would use a default ringer? I know you can swap a song for a ringtone but I was just looking for the other BlackBerry ring tones

Go to Settings and tap Notifications.

Then scroll down to the bottom and tap Applications.

    Tap on Phone.

Tap on Tone and a drop down list of default tones will, uh, drop down. Choose what you like or select a custom tone.

Not a lot to choose from. I downloaded Zedge and download tones with that then copy them to a location that can be browsed from the tone selection screen. Bam, done.

If your ringtone is available in the music player:
    1. Open it in the music player.
    2. Touch the "vertical ellipsis" on the bottom-right of the control bar of the player, and select Set As Ringtone from the menu options.
    3. Done.

I downloaded the original BlackBerry ringtones from back in the day. I keep them on a memory card. I still feel the classic tones are the best

No problem setting notification tones. But setting tones for individual contacts is a different story. I have one set for my wife but it never works. It always uses the default ringtone.

Here are screenshots of all available options, I can't see it anywhere in there. I know it used to be as I have changed it in the past, but it isn't anymore.

Anybody know if it's possible to make the notifications last longer than three or four seconds or is that all you get?

I also am not able to change my notification tones for any applications. It will only allow me to customize my contact tones.
    Any suggestions?
Although this is my personal phone, my company IT guy has set it up for my company e-mails.
I believe he has set something on the phone that won't allow me to customize.
I also am unable to set my screen password to the cool picture password available to most.
    Can anyone help??

OK, simple answer............ go to notifications, PICK A PROFILE, then you can Customize App Notifications......... I feel silly.
    thanks everyone for your help.

The inability to set picture password is almost certainly due to the security policy your IT tech set up on your phone.

Speaking of which... (might as well sneak this in, on the infinitesimally slim chance anybody with influence sees it and gives a damn); It doesn't seem to be possible to select a custom ring tone for a group of contacts - only individual ones.(?)
