This feature has to be enabled by your carrier.

Contact whoever that may be and they will enable the service which then allows you to choose password.

With those apps, the ignored call goes to voice mail or its really blocked?

I use Buzz Off from BBW. Sends blacklisted numbers directly to VM. Not truly blocking, but sends to VM before BlackBerry has a chance to ring and an LED will flash quickly to let you know.

I use Blockit and PowerTools from BB World. Both work perfectly to my satisfaction. Only drawback i see in both apps is that you have to manually enter the name and numbers. Would have been great if one can import contact information from phone contacts.

With any of the apps the ignored calls will route to Voicemail. Only the carrier would be able to prevent the call from making it to your phone and many provide such service - some free, others for a fee.

That said, I use blocking apps in conjunction with YouMail. Numbers I want to block are ignored by the apps and YouMail takes care of ditching the call for me so they can't leave a voice mail.

Wrong, you can import contact information. I don't think you have the app!

Yes, PowerTools is the greatest utility app which includes all in one of its multiple features is call blocking.

It works smooth and flawlessly on my Z10 and Passport.

I then use YouMail to ditch my designated callers that I block so they can't leave a voicemail.

PowerTools and YouMail is the way to go.

I'd be happy to elaborate more if you have a question in regard to my post or features of my suggestions that I use.

You funny. Why will i recommend it if i dont have it?

The first version of the Blockit i bought didn't have it. Then the next version which had it, it doesn't work. The current version which is 2.0.0.5 has it, which i just confirmed works but partially. For instance, in a situation where you have a contact with 2 or 3 numbers, you have to select the numbers you want to block. Why will i wanna block specific numbers of a contact and not all that particular contact's numbers? Think.

Btw, my not knowing that the current version has it was because it's being long i added numbers to the blacklist.

I like it. Do what it's supposed to do, you don't notice anything. You can add a number manually, or choose from call log or contact. The blocked number appear in the hub with a red x before. You have a blocked call log. It's headless.

    Hi everybody,
Thanks for all your hints. That saved me quite some time checking out all of these apps on my own (and some of the free ones just don't work). I have come to select BuzzOff and am very content with how it gave me relief from a very annoying call-robot.
