You cannot bypass this, it is a security feature and you must have the user name and password, without them you have an expensive paperweight unfortunately.

If it has an OS on it newer than 10.3.2.500, you can't use it at all without first entering the BBID that was last on it.
If it has an older OS than 10.3.2.500, then you can use an auto-loader to wipe/install an older OS, which would then reset the BBID on the device allowing you to create a new one.
However, you can not load any OS older that what is currently on the device if it has an OS newer than 10.3.2.500, doing so will hard lock the device until the correct BBID is entered.
There is no hack, crack, or way around this.

Have your friend go to https://blackberryid.blackberry.com/bbid/login/ to see if he can remember or reset his password. If he no longer has access to the email account used during his initial BBID setup, you are both out of luck.

That isn't something that can be circumvented. If the Anti-Theft was activated, your friend will have to recall his BB ID. Read here: BlackBerry Protect Anti-theft Protection

It can be done. I have done it myself. I bought my passport used from a guy who sold it cheap because he could not remember his BlackBerry id

U need to flash it with 10.1 that did not include antitheft protection. Then setup as a new phone. (with a new BlackBerry id). Then upgrade to 10.3 with link then upgrade to 10.3.2.2474 OTA
I only did this after the seller guaranteed that the phone I was buying was his and not stolen.
Obviously it worked or I wouldn't be using my passport to post this

And yes u CAN downgrade the os despite what everyone says. U need to access it via a .bat file with your pc

    What's a .bat file?
Do you mean a .bar file?
    Instructions?
How could you have possibly loaded a Passport with 10.1?

    Dubious....I'm not convinced...I'm rather skeptical.

He's referring to the batch file /command file used for autoloader.

Windows batch file to as the autoloader. U need a dump of a q10 image as it is the only one I know works for sure. Don't worry that it is from a q10 it still works when flashed on the passport.

So it appears someone found a non-blacklisted or manipulated a 10.3.1 auto-loader to not show up on the OS blacklist.
I notice the file name is 10.3.01.xxxx instead of 10.3.1.xxxx

I bricked my passport the first time but just repeated the same steps in the same order and it worked. My PP would not even turn on until I connected to my laptop via usb

You could try Low Joes method, this is the first time I have heard of anyone successfully getting past this problem, good luck, let us know how it goes.

Can you use a blackberry without a blackberry ID after resetting it using an auto loader, can you skip this step if you have no use for blackberry features other than making calls and connecting to the internet

    Absolutely.
Only if it hasn't got a BBID already attached to it.

If it's a second hand phone with someone else's ID on it you need to get their password before you can remove it.

If it's not got one already then absolutely as Ben says.
