That's a pretty good price! I hope that's what its sold for when it comes out in Lagos, I just saw an iPhone 6 16Gb online for about $1,300!

599$ with 32 gb of space plus expandable with 1440p screen and touch enabled physical keyboard. That's good value

It would be quite a bit more from Samsung and Apple. This a great value for what you are getting.

LOL @ 599 being too high. Why lower? How low would it have to get for people who prefer an iPhone, a Galaxy, or any all-touch device to do a 180 and say "hey, I want a Passport"? Those people would take a GS4 or an iPhone 5 if that's all they can afford; they're not buying Passports.

599 is fine, it's lower than the other "flagship" devices while still high enough to not be a complete joke and a net loss for BlackBerry.

I have a bunch of upgrades so I am really interested in how much the upgrade price is going to be. Probably still $200 but the Q10 was that much on contract and I think it was more without contract when it was released.

599 sounds very fair to me. Not too low to turn a profit, but low enough so early adopters won't be annoyed by very fast price drops like the Q10/Z30 had.

Now if only local (Eu) stores don't unnecessarily inflate the price (and sell it in the first place) it might actually be a big hit!

Ha, see, therein lies the problem. "It's the same as most any other new phone on the market". If this is true, and I think it is, then it is still too high. It should be below most new phones on the market, in recognition of the shortcomings of the platform. I'm just going to sit and wait patiently. Let's see how the launch goes.

sure i agree a little with that. But the hardware is worth 599 IMO. Doesnt matter what OS it has, the hardware for once is inline with others in the market for the most part

Why would that be too high, after all, how much of a hit on the product you want the company to take???? BlackBerry don't have Apple $$$$. Their is production cost and costly things that go into this I believe. Business will be business, happy their is a new phone out.

If the traditional build quality is maintained, its a steal...

However if they cheapen out on the quality of the plastics and the finishing, it's doomsday...!!!

At this price and with the blackberry keyboard they'll be running out of stocks in the first ten days...!!!

But then I'm a sucker for BB...!!! <3

Very fair price. With taxes in my state it's about 641 outright.

I can't complain about that. They just need to take my money!

Does anyone know if wifi calling with be available on the passport in the US for use with T-Mobile's service? Since the release of the 9900 when they did away with UMA in the hardware, every BB phone (9900, OS10, etc) wifi calling was not on the phone in it's initial release. It normally took 6-9 months before wifi calling was patched on the device. Does anyone know if they've fixed it and it will be on there from day one?

I would suggest they look at the $499 mark, or offer group purchase incentives. E.g. Blackberry for the whole Family. Phone 1 @ 599, Buy two - second is 549, buy three - third is 499, buy four and the fourth is 449. Max 4 devices per family. Just my thoughts.

I honestly believe $549 would have been a much better pricing strategy. Not to far off from $599 but would have made alot more people give the phone a look if even after taxes, etc, you would still be able to purchase it under $600 USD would be much better...
