Might be a stupid question for some of you but is it reasonable for me to purchase one brand new BlackBerry Classic Black and Blackberry Passport Silver Edition at this point in time in case that my Blackberry Passport SE retires in one to two years time hehe

If you plan on using the same devices for years to come, I do not see why not. This is what Kim Kardashian does. I read somewhere that she has over 100 Blackberry Bold 9900 brand new boxed waiting until she breaks the current one she is using. Either way, keep it simple and get a back up of both until needed.

What you are doing is exactly what I want to do, because I never want to switch brands if i can help it. I hope to get a backup Classic and Q10, and if i can swing it also a backup Passport. I also predict these phones will all soar in value later on when / if BlackBerry stops manufacturing them, but that's not why i want to have extras.

When they will stop producing the Passport if it hasn't happened yet, we will look back at it as an extremely rare collector's piece because how effing gorgeous is this thing?!

So better hoard as many as possible while you can. LoL

Just a bit worried about the non-removable battery.

I bought a spare Passport SE for that same reason and it is killing me to not need to use it since my original opening day Passport is still working perfectly!

That alone would be a reason NOT to buy them. Who wants to follow her example?

Hmmm... BB10 may have stood a chance If each of the diehards actually followed her example by hoarding hundreds of devices.

Ive got 2 q5's for that reason. I do have a 9900 I raided and unlocked from a thift store too. When I upgrade to the passport, then this q5 will go into the storage as a backup... the others will be backups to the back up.

If I get me a new Passport I'd get the Red to accompany the SE. If I get me a new Classic I'd get the Cobalt and retire the black to a back-up status. I hope they can sell me something else though.. these devices don't seem to be breaking anytime soon.

Yes, I've gotten new BlackBerries to back up my black Z30 and blue Classic. I recently bought a black 9900 to experiment with. But to avoid the inevitability of a BB10 device with nonreplacable battery dying within 2-3 years of use, I bought a new white Q10, which is expected to arrive in a couple of days. Next I hope to buy a backup Classic.
