Would you consider this normal for a Passport that is not doing much? (CB10 and Twitter running the background).

It seems a little high for my liking. I'm wondering if this is linked to the fact that I do not get more than 14-16 hours of battery life on a charge.

738 free? Nah. That's about normal. I usually spend my days in the 500 area free. when it gets to 350 I reboot to gain it all back and my memory jumps to 1200 or so....on my Z30.

That's definitely on the higher end. I'm pretty sure I've never crossed 2GB usage, averaging in the 1.4-1.7 GB range. It's saying your Browser app is using some space there even though you're saying only CB10 and Twitter are open, so I don't know if there are some processes running which shouldn't be. Tried doing a soft reset with both volume keys pressed for a bit?

Jaydee, if you're getting that much free RAM on the Z30, it means your usage is definitely lower that the OP's as you've got ~500MB out of 2GB free and he/she is getting ~700MB free out of 3GB memory.

Remember guys that free RAM is in many ways wasted RAM.
From an OS point of view it tries to maximise the amount of RAM in use.
Even when a program goes idle, it is at OS discretion as to whether the RAM is reclaimed.

that's my point. The RAM is a moveable feast! When I reboot I start at 1200 and in two hours time it settles down to about 450-600 for a few days, depending on which apps I open and close. I was saying it didn't think the 700MB was anything to worry about. A reboot brings it all back and then you start again, right?
