I'm currently using some Monster Turbine Copper Pro with Control Talk, but they're on their way to the grave. They sound good.

Next set might be Shure SE846, but it's a bit annoying that they don't come with a mic on the cable.
I upgraded to the SE846, which again prompted me to change from the Passport to the Priv as my daily driver, as the sound on the Priv is much better (imho). Better resolution and fidelity. I'm even beginning to like the pkb.

The T20 is best of RHA but it is expensive to me. But must say you are lucky

My XBA-4 sound MIA, but they're very finicky, you need a proper player like my nwz-z1000 (which is crap at everything else) for them to shine; ATH-CKR10 sound nice.

Pro tip: you can now listen to BBC 6 music on the passport! All because they are experimenting with an html5 player instead of Flash... Go to your browser and look for BBC 6 Music schedule, listening live wasn't working when I tried it but previous shows are available. Now working! Press the play button at the top right...

Had shure 110. Had a wonderfull efficiency, lacked basses. Forgot them in a plane.

Had shure 210 (215 ? ), not really better than 110, fogot them in a taxi.

Now shure 425. Magic. Far too good for a smartphone...

PS: with all those, you can ear the difference between music compression qualities, so lossles compression is mandatory, and HD is appreciated.

Flac HD is your friend !

Ok.. So I realize this might be somewhat off topic, but... If you ever decide to side- / upgrade to a Priv, the headset that's in the box is surprisingly capable. My daily drivers are some shure SE846, so yeah... sure (no pun intended) the treble isn't as clear and the bass kind of washes out, but yeah. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Indeed, I googled some of them, and they were found to be even more expensive than my SE.

But.... since I do not pay for them.....

have some Sennheiser Hd600s, no mic on them, open backed, limitted volume , large size, no bluetooth. 9 meter cable.
so nothing to recommend them except the fact they sound noticably better than anything else I ever tried, that and so comfortable and light.

Hm..clearly I must've been very drunk at the time of writing my last post. The headphones suck compared to the 846s. But then again... The latter cost more than the Priv, so... Yeah.

Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506 or bust. The classic studio monitors are unbeatable. Throw some soft Beyer Dynamic cushions on after the stock ones crap out after five years or so.

I prefer the V6 over the 7506. The 7506 is true to sound with some added gain around 3KHz, perfect for audiobooks/speeches, and an all around flat profile otherwise. The V6 has a very balanced sound that's perfect for mids and highs with very crisp bass response, my favored profile for all the blues and rock and metal I listen to.

Bought MDR-7506s for the whole family a couple of years ago. Best everlasting headphones under $100
