Plantronic bluetooth GO2 for listening to podcasts or making calls, and foldable AKG450 for listening to music.

I'm not a Passport user, but I am using an Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Studio Monitoring headphone, and an Alessandro MS1i which is a more natural-sounding cousin of the in-your-face and aggressively-sounding Grado.

Audio Technica M50X monitors are the best on the market, imo. For the price.

I use a pair of Logitech H800 Bluetooth wireless headphones. I know, not exactly audiophile quality, but they work really well with the Passport. Plus the headphones have a boom mic attached so I can make handsfree telephone calls if I want.

Sound-wise, M50 and M50X are virtually the same, although the latter offers detachable cables. Since I don't think my M50 is gonna break soon, there's no reason to get the M50X. However, for a first time buyer, the M50X would be a great choice.

As previously noted by Dead Cowboy, M50 series are a MASSIVE value for sonic capabilities! A lot like the Audi A8 series vs the BMW 7 series.

This is a revision of my earlier post.

I just compared my Shure high end in-ear phones with the BlackBerry Premium phones that came with the Passport. I also compared them listening to a song on iTunes on my Mac and the same song copied to the Passport.

The main difference, as mentioned earlier here by someone, is between the sound quality on the Mac and on the Passport, with the Mac beating the PP hands down, especially in the bass, even with bass boost in the PP equalizer. Comparing the two headphones on both the Mac and the PP, there was no appreciable difference to my ears.

So I guess I'll just use the BlackBerry phones with the Passport since they have a mic.

Is there a better equalizer for the Passport than the native one?

My Passport is due to arrive in (hopefully) 2 days.
Does anyone have 32 ohms full size headphones to tell me how the loudness is?
I keep reading lately about the disappointing performance of the phone, volume wise, through headphones and I was wondering if someone has experienced it - or not.
I currently have a 9780 and a pair of Technics RP DJ 1200A headphones (32 ohms) and the sound is great, both from the pov of quality and loudness (with audio boost on). Is the Passport the same or worse in that respect?
I would really appreciate an answer

    In-Ear: Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pro
    Over Ear: Audio Technica M50
    Workouts: Sennheiser 685i

Now if only I can combine the frequency range of the ATM50s with the forwardness of the Super.Fi 5 Pros, I'd be in heaven!
As much as I like the frequency response of the M50s, I do find it a bit too laid back. Anyone with this experience? And can anyone recommend a more forward sounding unit?

BTW, www.headfi.org is THE place to go for all things headphone related.

If you want a more forward, aggressive sound, you can try Sennheiser HD25-1 II or the Grado Labs SR80e (or any Grado headphones).

I've used a Bose Quiet Comfort 15 set of headphones for a year or so, mainly on flights. They are reliable and work so well. The noise canceling is great.
Recently, I found a really good deal on a Sennheiser MM 550-X (wireless/bluetooth) and was thinking of making the upgrade to wireless.

Anyone have the Sennheiser MM 550-X??

I agree. Bose headphones are the best in noise-cancelling.

I also have to add for a much more refined listening experience with IEM's, I RECOMMEND comply TX series memory phone buds. The fit great and blocks out ear wax which can ruin the tiny speaker systems in IEM'S. They also approach custom fit blocking out any interference.

Update: got the tx100/200's for Xmas and they are crap, they feel and look cheep and the inner plastic tube actually hurt and irritate the ear canal!
