What a sweety! What's his/her name? They can be such a handful, can't they?? Like perpetual playful toddlers...that can bite when cranky or scared. lol Yes, Bandit's about 7 yrs old now...or is he 8 now. He's a bit of a cranky shoulder bird. I also have Pumkin, a 2 yr old Pineapple GCC, she's a total sweety and super affectionate, and 4 feisty budgies who fill the home with song and mischief. It can get a lil crazy when all 6 are out at the same time and start flying all over the place. lol Couldn't imagine life without my feathered buddies.

I share this man's opinion but the last few times I posted about it I got banned by the mods. The thing is that such posts are nonsense to me, however as you say that's someone's excitement put into words and as a post here so that's cool. Then please CONSIDER that people like Wobus also have an opinion so he should be FREE to post and share this opinion and what he thinks about such posts....so please Hpjrt don't preach people on "just ignore and move on"...instead you should ignore his comment and not post about it according to your own logic. Thanks.
There are always boundaries to freedoms. Opinions are fine, but not if they denigrate a fellow crackberrian. So posts saying the OP or his opinions about a BlackBerry device don't have a place here and are not welcome... have no place here and are not welcome.

His name is Chilli, he's 5 mths old but we have had him for almost 2 mths. He's still a baby but a character, he really has bonded with me even tho I got him for my mom. But if I'm upstairs and I'm coming down he will give a little screech. My mom laughs as he knows when I'm coming down or if I've gone outside, soon as I come in he starts lol.

He doesn't bite hard but he is now getting used to coming onto our fingers and he loves sitting on my shoulder. Usually he starts playing with my gold neckchain, he has broken the clasp the little bugger lol and now he has started on my silver bracelet lol. But he loves it when I give him little neck/head scratches or massages and if I don't while he is sat on my shoulder then he will start making these funny little noises. Or he will start nibbling on my ears lol.

He really is a cheeky little monkey. Love him to bits and can't imagine life without him.

Aww, Chili sounds like a real sweety. They're funny lil creatures, eh. My oldest GC conure (Bandit) was "my" bird for years and would go after my daughter, biting her, as he's quite territorial about his cage and "his" people (all parrots know everything belongs to them, lol)...and then one day she was whispering to him gently and cooing and Boom...he became her bird in an instant, and would chase me away from her. lol They can become quite hormonal as they mature sexually, which can bring the biting and broodiness. And they can sure become louder as they mature, mine can screech with the best, and they're the so-called quiet parrots! lol Suns can be soo loud, it'd be cool to hear Sunny's vocalisations.

My Pineapple GC girl, Pumkin, is sweet n' gentle and lives for head skritches and plenty of loving. She's starting to become a bit hormonal and tries to keep others away from me, so I keep the skritches to the head only. Stroking of the body can make them sexually hormonal, and cause some unpleasant behaviour. On the otherhand, Bandit doesn't like to be touched by hands at all, and will draw blood if you try to touch him. Ouch. I call mine lil monkeys too, they're so acrobatic and love flipping on the their back with feet kicking in the air to play. lol

Wellll, we sure hijacked this thread! LOL I could talk birds all day. Btw, watch out for Chili chewing on metals, as they can get metal poisoning, which is quite awful. If you ever wanna bird-talk, just shoot me a pm.

And a pic of my Pineapple GC, Pumkin, when we first adopted her (you can kinda see where here wings were clipped, they've since grown out and she flys like a lil fighter jet). When she was a baby her beak was bit by an older bird, but it doesn't interfere with eating or anything.

Both beautiful birds Sharon, will send u a pm sometime soon as we are pretty new to parrots. My youngest brother out in Australia has a green quaker parrot and he's quite the character, his name is Jaks lol. But he mimics my sis in law laughing and says quite a few words. Very possessive over my brother lol...anytime my sis in law comes close to my bro he comes in between him and her lol.

So he's been giving us tips over video chat and whatsapp messages.

Thank you, they're my babies. Like conures, Quakers have quite the personality and are quite territorial too, but very sweet. Our conures say quite a few words, as does my female budgie. Your Chili may end up talking a lot, if he's spoken to on a consistent basis...Suns have the ability to speak quite well, I gather. Look forward to hearing more about your feathered buddy!
