My SE' s screen is too bright, even when brightness is set to the minimum. It really hurts the eyes when I use my phone under dim lights.

Is there anyway to solve my issue?

Try enabling battery saver mode. It further reduces the brightness.

Doesn't reduce the brightness at all... I suppose it only works when brightness is set above the minimum level.

Are the sensors working properly? Run BBVE and go through the tests, might be a hardware/sensor issue.

You were right, I restarted the device and the brightness was automatically adjusted. This sensor issue really is happening frequently, I think this is also why my keyboard won't light up at times.

Try being aware of any light sources hitting the sensor... you may not think the light next to you is that bright, but it may triger the sensor
