    I had this problem to. It seen to have something to do with Google security. They may have changed something. I had Cobalt't Google Play on my Passport. I tried several things. Finally I did a security wipe and a clean install. I (hen made sure that my Google account was set to low security for apps.

    Then I encrypted the phone before installing the Android apps. I had a lot of trouble with the app for Jawbone U3 but after several installs it settled down. Now things are back to normal

    UPDATE 2:

    So after resolving the issue by turning encryption off and rebooting several times everything was fine.

    I decided to turn encryption on again and within a few hours, the battery drain issue reappeared and I could no longer run the Amazon apps. My Passport was blazing hot also.

    Frustrating issue and hoping there's a better solution than a full wipe.

    Darned, everything was going swell until I installed Kindle via the amazon app store... The phone got hot in the upper right corner and stayed that way, plus the amazon store wouldn't start, even after a restart. Disabling encryption...

    Thanks, I just removed the encryption and it seems to be running at more normal temps... The Amazon app and Kindle also open normally. I might try encrypting again in a couple of days to see how it fares... Still enjoying my passport!
